Teacher Workshop: 19th Century Art---THIS EVENT IS FULL

  • Teachers are invited to examine a critical period in Western art history—Paris at the turn of the twentieth century—and discover connections among the acoustical environment of the time and works of visual art. Artists included in the MA Arts curriculum frameworks will be featured, such as Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Berthe Morisot, and composer Claude Debussy.

    The day includes a gallery talk with curator Linda Muehlig in the exhibition, Debussy’s Paris: Art, Music, and the Sounds of the City, and a hands-on artmaking activity.  ($30 fee, $25 members)
