Women's Education Worldwide 2012 Conference
Gender Issues in Higher Education: Global and Local Experience
June 8-10, 2012
Ginling College, Nanjing Normal University, China
Women's Education Worldwide (WEW) is an international organization of leaders in women's higher education, and was founded in 2003 by Smith and Mount Holyoke. Every year, a participating member institution volunteers to host a multi-day student leadership conference, limited to thirty-five undergraduate or newly-graduated students from member institutions. The conference combines lectures with peer-to-peer learning, and aims to build global responsiveness to gender-related issues. In 2011, the conference was held at Collegio Nuovo in Pavia, Italy. Four Smith students were selected to participate. Read more about the conference here.
