GRADUATE STUDENT PROFILES
Tara Lynne Madsen, 2006
"My experience at Smith was incredible! It definitely shaped me into the professional that I am today. The program was multidimensional and challenged me in every aspect of dance. When I reflect back on my time at Smith, I realize not only did I grow as an artist, but more importantly as a human being."
After graduating from Smith with an MFA in 2006, Tara Madsen moved to Philadelphia to dance for a professional modern company, Tania Isaac Dance. She performed/toured with TID for three years. The company performed nationally at venues such as Bates Dance Festival, Jacob's Pillow, Aaron Davis Hall- Harlem Stage, Dance Place and numerous colleges throughout the US. Tara continues to work as a freelance choreographer and has presented her work internationally in Greece, Italy, Guatemala, Scotland and Spain. Nationally, Tara has presented her choreography throughout Philadelphia, New York City and California. She is on the adjunct faculty in the dance department at DeSales University and Kutztown University.
