World on edge

World on Edge: War and Peace in the Climate Age Era - Jackie Pritzen Annual Lecutre, Professor Michael Klare

December 2nd, 4:30pm, Franklin Patterson Hall, Hampshire College

The world is currently suffering from a proliferation of violent conflicts and social upheaval, including wars in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan, along with a massive tide of refugees seeking to escape all this violence. At the same time, we are seeing increasing evidence of the impact of climate change on human societies, in the form of droughts, floods, forest fires and coastal erosion. How will these two trends interact? Will climate change make war more or less likely? No final answer can be provided to these questions, but some trends are beginning to emerge.

Step 1: Download an Employment Evidence Form and have your supervisor fill it out.

Step 2: Come into ISSO with your form, and we will write you a letter and give you more information.

For additional information, visit the Social Security website.

Read Our Tumblr

We have a Tumblr established last year for current students. Updated about twice a week during the school year, the Tumblr is managed by our office student staff and is a good place to find tips about events, as well as news from the office. Check out the Smith International Tumblr.
