Getting Started:

For those less familiar with archival research, Using Archives: A Guide (Society of American Archivists) provides a good general overview. You may also want to look at the Five College Primary Sources Research Guide. More experienced researchers may also find this resource helpful as it focuses on local collections at Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College and the University of Massachusetts--Amherst, and lists a other local and online archival resources as well.
