E-Reserves Printing & Viewing Instructions

Get Started

  • E-reserves are available anywhere you have access to the Worldwide Web — on or off campus
  • To view and print most e-reserve documents, you must have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software (version 10 or higher).

Review and Select E-Reserves

  • To find e-reserve readings, click on "My Courses" in the top right menu bar, select your course, and then click on the "E-reserves" link
  • To view an e-reserve click on the highlighted text in the citation. The item will open in Acrobat reader, Word, Excel, or other format
  • Wait for the document to load completely before moving through it or trying to print it. Some of the e-reserves are quite long, so this may take a minute or two, especially if you’re connecting to the site from off campus using a modem or if you’re using an older computer
  • Close memory-intensive applications (e.g. Banner) to improve the loading speed

Printing Tips

  • Make sure the document is fully loaded before trying to print
  • Click on the Acrobat Reader printer icon to open up the print settings menu
  • Set Printer to: "Fit to Page"
  • Set Print Range to: "All Pages" or select only the pages you need
  • Set Print: "Odd and Even Pages"

Troubleshooting

  • Can't log into Moodle? Contact ITS
  • Course is not listed under "My Courses:" Contact your professor so she/he can add you to the Moodle site
  • Printed documents have blank pages or partially printed pages: Hit the "Reload" button on your browser navigation bar, wait for the document to completely load, try printing again
  • Missing pages, only every other page prints out: Check the print settings menu and select "Odd and Even Pages"
