MSW Domestic Students
Smith College School for Social Work (SSW) offers a variety of types of financial aid to assist students in paying for their education. Financial aid comes in a variety of forms and from a variety of sources. In order to be considered, students must apply for financial aid annually by the published deadlines. Please review our aid policies for important information.
Entering students should note that applying by the January 5 Non-Binding Early Admission deadline gives applicants preference in institutional financial aid.
All need-based aid is awarded as grant funding; grants do not need to be repaid.
The SSW has several specific types of merit aid that are determined at the time of admission. Separate application requirements may be necessary. Please review the details for each.
Loans are a form of financial aid that must be repaid with interest.
Some students receive scholarships, grants, veteran's benefits and employee tuition benefits from sources outside of Smith College.
