Tricky Wicked Bitch, May 2010

Directed by Sarah Thompson '10, Tricky Wicked Bitch, by Lisa Flora Meyers '11, is a quest for identity and family, told in poetry and vignette, music, dance, and time travel. Meyers' play took second prize in the 2010 Dr. Gaffney Playwriting Award/Baldwin New Play Festival competition at the University of California, San Diego. Henry V, April 2010

Director Daniel Elihu Kramer's production of Shakespeare's deepest exploration of the experience of warfare featured an all-female cast, and focused on the experience of battle, the image of the soldier as the masculine ideal, and the growing role of women in our fighting forces. Festival of One–Act Plays, February-March 2010

The popular Festival of One-Act Plays featured three new plays by MFA playwriting candidates: Scarlet P by Kendra Arimoto, directed by Jeffrey Stingerstein; Board of Review by Darren Harned, directed by Roger Gordon; and Detour by Roger Gordon, directed by Hillary Haft Bucs. Las Meninas, December 2009

Las Meninas, by Lynn Nottage, recreates a forgotten piece of history through a romance between Hapsburg princess Marie-Therese, Louis XIV's Queen, and Nabo Sensugali, an African dwarf sent as a gift for her royal amusement. Directed by Ellen W. Kaplan. Hallie Flanagan Studio Theatre, Mendenhall Center.

Mrs. Califonia, October 2009

Mrs. California, written by Doris Baizley, directed by Sam Rush, pokes fun at "homemakers' contests" popular in the 1950s. Four finalists for the hotly contested Mrs. California pageant vie for the state title of "ideal woman" and for prizes that include a New Freedom All-Gas Kitchen. Theatre 14, Mendenhall Center for the Performing Arts.
