Opening Convocation
Convocation, the formal beginning of the college year, is entering students’ first chance to experience Smith College’s tradition and spirit. The evening before classes begin, members of the Smith community gather to listen to an opening address and a performance by the Glee Club, followed by the announcement of the Arthur Ellis Hamm Prize recipients.
