Here at Smith we truly believe laughter is the best medicine. This year our supplement question asks you to recount a time when something really made you laugh. As Dean of Admission, I thought I would share my answer with you. My 80 year old mother just started texting. While I’m impressed that my aging mother has tried to keep up with technology, the finer points of texting have escaped her. After a terrible flood in my basement I received a “supportive” text from my mom: “Oh Debra, what a disaster! LOL” I responded, "LOL? You think this is funny? Do you even know what LOL means?"
