ENV 312 students will be presenting their capstone projects: "How Did We Get Here and Where Do We Go?: From Brownfield to Trail" by Zoe Merrell, Adrianna Rivers, and Athena Sofides, "Golf for Solar: On the Fringe" by Jane Holcomb, DeMya Johnson, and Rebecca Koske, and "Growing Smith" by Hazel Edwards, Emily Hitchcock, Ella Martin-Gachot and Elsbeth Pendleton-Wheeler. This is the first of two presentation sessions. Lunch will be provided.

I Sing Earth Pt 1: Elephants’ Tears

The Choreopoem Acting Class presents I Sing Earth Pt 1: Elephants’ Tears, a play with music about the environment and our place in it, written by Pan Morigan, and directed by Andrea Hairston & Pan Morigan. Using choreopoem acting and ensemble techniques, students in this course have explored the local/global/historical impact of human communities on the environments they inhabit, focusing on the MacLeish Field Station and our local Western Massachusetts ecosystems. We also explored the impact of language, world view, and imagination on our relationships to environmental issues. This performance is free and open to the public.

Trash for Treats at the Quad
May 6, 2019
It's time for our annual Trash for Treats move-out program! From 4:00-8:00 pm a Smith recycling truck and the Hot Oven Cookies food truck will be traveling around the Quad and Apartments. Please bring out your recyclables (paper, cardboard, bottles, cans, etc.) and any clothes you'd like to donate when the trucks are near your house. In exchange, you'll get a delicious cookie from Hot Oven Cookies! Vegan and gluten-free options are available. Look for posters in your house with timing details.
