A conversation with Associate Professor Alex Barron, former Obama and Biden administration environmental official, to start to understand the implications of the election for environmental issues. We'll discuss what the incoming administration might do, and ways that we can all take action and continue to work for environmental protection and social justice. Lunch provided.

Film screening: Counted Out (followed by a panel discussion and dinner

The film, featured in the New York Times, investigates the biggest crises of our time—political polarization, racial and economic inequity, a global pandemic, and climate change—through an unexpected lens: math. The film will run until 6:00 PM, with a panel discussion (and pizza) to follow. Panelists include Smith faculty: Becca Thomases (MTH), Candice Price (MTH), and Shannon Audley (EDC, MaRS co-PI), and will be moderated by Valerie Joseph (AEMES Mentoring Administrative Director).
