When more than 40 floats and 30 bands lined up and marched through the city's main streets on Sunday, June 6, Smith College was well-represented with its own float. The float, which featured a theme of women's basketball history, was put together by a committee of Smith faculty and staff members with the help of hundreds of folks in the Smith community.

Before it could represent Smith in the parade, the college's float had to be adorned with thousands of ribbons in the Smith colors. Here it receives its final touches in the Physical Plant sand shed before heading for the parade.
