Engineer Takes Financial Reins of National Association

Osman ’07 was recently named treasurer of the , an organization committed
to fostering culturally responsible African-American engineers.
As treasurer,
Osman, a mechanical engineering major, will work with the
society’s financial experts in managing its holdings
while seeking to increase investments.
Osman has been
a member of NSBE since her high school days in Boston, when
she founded a junior chapter of the organization. She received
a Golden Torch Award from the association in high school as
the Pre-College Female Student of the Year. Osman has served
as the NSBE corporate programs assistant and last year as
a regional finance chair.
With 270 chapters
and 18,000 members, NSBE is the largest student-managed association
in the United States. Founded at Purdue University in 1975,
NSBE is now headquartered at Alexandria, Va.
