Smith
United Way Campaign Reaches Goal
The Smith
College United Way campaign, which began in September with
a goal of raising $155,000, has succeeded in its mission with
contributions totaling $157,297 as of this week.
Thanks to the
donations of more than 400 folks in the Smith community, thousands
of people in need will receive assistance through the essential
services provided by 27 charitable agencies in the Pioneer
Valley that United Way of Hampshire County.
Moreover, each
dollar donated to the county campaign helps secure further
funding through grants based on the ’s success.
This year, as
usual, Smith College led the way among area educational institutions
with the largest percentage of contributions, providing more
than 10 percent of the community campaign’s $1.5 million
goal.

to the Smith community for its leadership and generosity.
Though the Smith
United Way campaign has successfully reached its goal, it’s
never too late to make a contribution and help those in need.
