THE BASICS:
What do you do at Smith?
I work "behind the scenes"
in the Leadership
Gifts unit in Advancement.
How many years have you
been at the college?
Seven.
What is your busy season?
July and August are a bit slower,
but the rest of the time is quite busy.
NOW THE FUN STUFF:
Who gets the most face
time with you?
My colleagues (sigh, I really
like them, but I'm not sure that's a balanced life).
What are you reading
now?
The Memory Keeper's Daughter.
What is your favorite
movie?
I have several: The Notebook
is one of the more current ones.
If you suddenly had two
hours of free time, what would you do?
I'd read, though I should be
dealing with disastrous closets.
What is your favorite
wall hanging at home?
My husband's photography.
Do you vote?
Yes, and I'm delighted that the
Democrats took back the [U.S.] House and the Senate.
If you could live during
any period in time and in any place, when and where?
I'm content to be here and now;
women are more empowered and fascinating discoveries happen
all the time.
Who does the work around
your abode?
My husband does most of the maintenance,
fixing, and building. I take care of the "inside"
things with some assistance every other week.
Is there any time in
your life you wish you could do over?
The period of time after my divorce.
Without searching for
the information...Do you know how Paradise Pond
got its name?
Doesn't it have to do with Jenny
Lind looking at it and commenting that it was Paradise?
What single piece of
advice would you give to graduating Smithies?
Be patient and persistent as
you pursue your goals, which will shift and
change as you go through life.
