THE BASICS:
Where are you from?
Concord, California.
Did you always know you
wanted to come to Smith?
No, I didn't, but I attended
as a leap of faith, and it paid off!
NOW THE FUN STUFF:
Who gets the most face
time with you?
My cat, Newberry.
When was the last time
you wore a dress?
I prefer dresses to slacks or
jeans so, often.
What are you reading
now?
What Would Jackie Do?
by Shelly Branch and
Smith alumna Sue Callaway, and What Israel Means to Me
by Alan Dershowitz.
Do you eat fast food?
Yes, every once in a while, Taco
Bell tastes like
gourmet to me, and I can eat my body weight there.
What do you miss most
about home?
The ocean, taking showers without
flip-flops, my queen bed with my cat curled on my pillow.
What is your favorite
movie?
Tombstone- best Western
ever!
Describe your worst date.
On my first real date in high
school, I was a freshman and went out with a senior, so I
was really nervous! When we parked at the destination of our
date, I fell out of his car and broke my ankle. I tried to
play it off, but the pain was excruciating!
If you suddenly had two
hours of free time, what would you do?
Persuade other Smithies to put
off what they had to do and head to Woodstar for
flourless chocolate cake, mochas, and conversation!
What is your favorite
wall hanging in your room?
I have a print of Faith Ringgold's
"Freedom of Speech" that hangs in the Met -- it's
a really interesting commentary on the best (and worst) influences
that have shaped the U.S.
Do you consider yourself
an urban, suburban, or rural person?
I'm an urban person, but I would
like to take a stab at rural at some point.
If you could live during
any period in time and in any place, when and where?
I am content to be exactly where
I am. This is absolutely the best time in my life!
What annoys the heck
out of you?
Jean jackets with jeans and people
who don't vote.
Who are your role models?
[Smith] Professors Alice Hearst
and Donna Divine, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, Barbara
Boxer and Dianne Feinstein.
What single piece of
advice would you give to President Christ?
To pelt the quad rioters with
water balloons from her second-story porch -- that's
what I'd do!
