THE BASICS:
What do you do at Smith?
I'm the director of
the Career Development Office (CDO).
How many years
have you been at the college?
Just about three.
What is your busy season?
September through May.
NOW THE FUN STUFF:
Who gets the most face time with you?
Sadly, my email.
What are you
reading now?
I just finished Don't Let's
Go to the Dogs Tonight.
What is your favorite movie?
Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
If you suddenly had two hours of free time,
what would you do?
Go on a hike with my partner
and my dog.
What is your favorite
wall hanging at home?
Three antique tin ceiling tiles
that I found at the Brimfield Fair. Randomly, they were salvaged
from a Pennsylvania department store my grandmother and I
shopped in when I was a child.
What annoys the heck
out of you?
People who lack courage.
Do you eat fast food?
Very rarely. However, I find
McDonald's fries with lobster delightfully satisfying.
Do you consider yourself
an urban, suburban or rural person?
Urban at heart. I live in a
rural area now and am learning to enjoy the solitude it brings.
Who are your role models?
Margaret Marshall, Ann Richards,
Barbara Jordan, Eleanor Roosevelt, just to name a few.
What's your favorite thing about
where you grew up?
The house itself. It was an
old stone farmhouse that was filled with history.
What single piece of
advice would you give to Smithies?
Something I learned
from running marathons: the finish line isn't the most important
goal. Taking the next step is. |
