As we mark the final days of 2008, let's take a look
back on the year as reported through the Grécourt
Gate.
It was a year in which Smith students joined the nation
in flocking to the polls to cast votes in a historic
election. And it was a year that economics professors
stood before the Smith community to explain why the
federal government planned to bail out ailing banks.
Admission did away with the SAT requirement and overhauled
its visitor center. The college welcomed a new class,
a new way to power the campus and a new spirit mark.
While dancers were moved by a stinky plant at the Botanic
Garden, black bears were spotted moving through campus.
