NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – At its March meeting, the Smith College Board of Trustees approved tenure and promotion recommendations for 15 faculty members.
Promoted to full professor from associate professor were Patricia DiBartolo, psychology; Christophe Golé, mathematics and statistics; Joel Kaminsky, religion; Laura Katz, biological sciences; John Moore, art; and Margaret Sarkissian, music.
Promoted to associate professor with tenure from assistant professor were Judith Cardell, computing and engineering; Marguerite Itamar Harrison, Spanish and Portuguese studies; Nicholas Howe, computer science; Shizuka Hsieh, chemistry; Suleiman Mourad, religion; and Andrew Rotman, religion. Also promoted to tenure was Joanne Corbin, associate professor in the Smith College School for Social Work.
In addition, Edward Check, theatre; and Judith Keyler-Mayer, German studies, were promoted to senior lecturer.
