Thanksgiving Concert with Limited Seating Scheduled at Smith

The annual concert "Music for Thanksgiving," presented by the Smith College music department, will be held in the Smith College Museum of Art on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m.

Free tickets for this event may be obtained from the museum on a first come, first served basis but must be picked up in person; they may not be reserved by telephone.

The program for the concert will include the Sonata in D Major for viola and keyboard by Johann Sebastian Bach, the "Four Serious Songs" for baritone and piano by Johannes Brahms and the String Quintet in C Major, Opus 29, by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Philipp Naegele, viola, and John van Buskirk, piano, will be joined by several guest artists.

The Brahms songs will be sung by Finn Nicolaj Møller, baritone, a Danish resident of the Dutch Antilles island of Curacao whose daughter is a Smith College graduate. Møller hosts a music festival on Curacao at which some of the participants in this concert have performed.

The Beethoven quintet will include Emi Resnik, recently appointed assistant concertmistress of the Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra (Hilversum), and Tessa Peterson van Buskirk, violins; Barbara Wright and Philipp Naegele, violas; and Matthias Naegele, cello.
