Ways to View the Dalai Lama’s Address

While tickets to the event are limited to members of the Smith and Hampshire campus communities, there are a number of ways alumnae and others, near and far, can view the talk. In keeping with the Dalai Lama’s openness to enlisting technology in his work, his address will be fully “wired,” making it available to an even wider audience. You can view the address in several ways:

Attend a live simulcast in John M. Greene Hall. Local alumnae are encouraged to attend, but should avoid bringing their cars to the Smith campus that day because of limited parking.

Watch another live simulcast in Franklin Patterson Hall at Hampshire College in Amherst (and avoid the parking problem).

See it on TV. Public television station WGBY in Springfield, Massachusetts, will broadcast the address live. Its sister station in Boston, WGBH, will air it at noon.

View the webcast on your computer as it is happening or any time after the event. Go to www.smith.edu/dalailama for details.

Smith Media Relations Director Kristen Cole says she expects local, regional and national press coverage of the event. “I am thrilled with the interest because the media will be able to share the news of the Dalai Lama’s remarks with a wider audience than we could possibly accommodate at the event,” Cole says.
