Biography
Ann Jones came to Smith in 1977 and taught new literary theory through the 1990s, along with a range of other courses, including Homer to Dante, Novels About Novels, Women's Autobiography and the senior seminar for comparative literature majors. With Dana Leibsohn she taught the seminar Translating New Worlds.
In her writing, Jones has pursued her interests in the European Renaissance, love poetry, women's writing, feminist theory and neo-Marxist approaches to culture. Her current project is a study of the costume-book genre, combining prints and texts about dress worldwide, titled Global Habits.
