Face Coverings Required On Campus, May 14, 2020
Dear students, staff and faculty:
In accordance with public health guidance issued by the city of Northampton, Smith College is now requiring that face coverings be worn on campus when in outdoor spaces.
This requirement applies, without exception, to all students, employees and visitors to campus when in outdoor spaces. Please note that all outdoor athletic fields, including the track, remain closed.
As a reminder, only those employees who have been cleared by their managers to perform essential, in-person work should be on campus.
Students remaining on campus for the summer who do not have a mask or face covering may request one by contacting Deborah Day, STEAM Outreach Coordinator at the Jandon Center for Community Engagement, at dday@smith.edu.
Members of our community should not attempt to police or enforce this policy themselves; instead, we should focus our efforts on our own individual health, safety and compliance with the city of Northampton and Smith’s public health guidelines.
