Departmental Prizes in French Studies
Please use this form to submit essays for the Césaire, Colette or Voltaire prize in the department of French Studies at Smith. Full guidelines for prize submissions can be found on the French Studies website.
As the first page of your submission file, please submit a cover letter with the following information:
- your Smith ID number (99….)
- the title of the submitted work, and semester in which you submitted it
- an explanation (maximum 150 words) of the reasons why you think this essay or project is your best work. For Colette prize submissions, the cover letter may be written in English. For all other submissions, the cover letter should be written in French.
- If you received outside help on the essay or project, please acknowledge this by stating the name of the person who helped you and the kind of help received (content and/or grammar)
Multiple prize submissions in French Studies in the same year are not allowed; students may make one entry per person, per year.
NOTE: This form is the only way to submit an essay for consideration. Essays submitted by any other means will not be accepted.
