Alternate or Backup Authentication Methods

It is highly recommended that you setup at least one alternate or backup method of Duo authentication.

Print out 5 single-use Passcodes: After you complete your Duo enrollment, follow these instructions to have Duo text you a list of 5 single use passcodes. Store your codes in a place you can access them if you do not have your phone.

Security Key: Using the security key is limited to authenticating web applications in Chrome or Firefox.

Enroll a Landline Phone: A landline can be your office or your home phone. Any phone registered in Duo can accept a call to authenticate.

MacBook Touch ID: MacBook Pro and MacBook Air users can now set up Touch ID to work with Duo. Adding Touch ID as an additional authentication device enables Duo approval using the Touch ID sensor. Touch ID is limited to authenticating web applications using Chrome. (Safari is not supported.)

Apple Watch and Duo Mobile: Duo supports login request and passcode generation from your Apple Watch.
