A new comedy at Boston’s Huntington Theatre is the work of onetime Northampton poet laureate Lenelle Moïse, M.F.A. ’04. A world-premiere play, K-I-S-S-I-N-G follows a high school student and artist named Lala as she falls for twin brothers during a “sweet and sticky” summer. “Lenelle Moïse has created a love letter to Boston, to Cambridge, to love, and to Black joy,” director Dawn M. Simmons says. “The story and its characters wear their hearts on their sleeve, and we hope people will leave the theater caught up in the love.” The play is a co-production of The Huntington and Front Porch Arts Collective, a Black theater company committed to advancing racial equity in Boston. The production runs through April 2 at The Huntington’s Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, with digital access to the filmed performance available until April 16. Tickets start at $20.
