We can't stop listening to Arthur Moon.

Like Tune-Yards (the indie-pop music project of Merrill Garbus ’01), Arthur Moon is the avant-pop music project of Lora-Faye Whelan Ashuvud ’10. And the similarities don't end there. Ashuvud and Garbus both identify as queer, and Vice music channel Noisey hears parallels in their sounds, writing, "If you're looking for an artist somewhere between Tune-Yards and Anna Calvi, a woman who goes by the name Arthur Moon might just be your best bet."

Cover of Arthur Moon self-titled albumAfter releasing an EP and a steady stream of singles ("Homonormo," "Reverse Conversion Therapy," "I Feel Better"), Ashuvud released her self-titled debut album on August 2. Billboard.com, for one, approves, praising the Brooklyn-based band for being "more than happy to deconstruct the conventions of typical pop music to make a new, fresh sound."
