Student
Affairs Staffers Moving On
Three members of the Office of Student Affairs staff will
soon depart Smith.
Mentha Hynes, associate
dean for multicultural affairs and student affairs, will
soon leave for her new position as director of student
life at Whitman College of Princeton University. After
11 years at Smith in which she also served as associate
director of admission, Hynes’ last day
will be Friday, June 8. Venus Ricks, east Quad area coordinator,
will serve as acting director of multicultural affairs while
a national search takes place during the next year.
Also leaving Student Affairs are Betsy Elias, executive
assistant, and Marty Checchi, area coordinator.
A farewell reception will be held for the staff members
on Thursday, June 7, at 2:30 p.m. in the Alumnae House Living
Room.
