Several Smith students and faculty traveled recently to
the annual meeting of the in San
Diego.
The meeting, which took place Nov. 3 through 7 this year,
gives neuroscientists from around the world opportunities
to present their latest research.
Kristen Alligood ’08, Michelle Wong ’08 presented
their research as part of the meeting, as did Jung Kim ’08J,
Stephanie Del Tufo ’08, Theanne Griffith ’08,
and alumna Eileen Kessler ’07.
The students, who work in the labs of Smith faculty in the
sciences, were accompanied at the meeting by their faculty
mentors Mary Harrington, the Tippit Professor in Life Sciences,
Adam Hall, associate professor of biological sciences, and
Michael Barresi, assistant professor of biological sciences.
Several alumnae, including
Eileen Kessler ’07, also
made presentations at the meeting.
With more than 38,000
members, the Society for Neuroscience is the world’s
largest organization of scientists and physicians who study
the brain and nervous system.
