Feist
to Rock at Spring Concert
The floorboards of John M. Greene Hall will pulsate to the
beat of Juno Award winner and international recording artist
Feist on Friday, April 25, during the annual Rec Council
spring concert.
Feist will perform with opening guest Ingrid Michaelson.
The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. (doors will open at 6:30
p.m.).
Feist is a Canadian singer-songwriter who performs as a
soloist and with the indie rock group Broken Social Scene.
She has recorded eight albums and has been nominated for
the Grammy Award four times.
The Rec Council hosts
a spring concert every year to provide a culmination to
the year’s campus events, says Alexandra
Ross-Reid ’08, a Rec Council member who is helping
coordinate the concert.
“As a student organization dedicated to bringing large-scale
campus-wide entertainment to the students here at Smith,
we wanted to provide an end-of-the-year event that makes
Smith students excited,” she said.
Tickets for the Feist concert, which were available first
to Smith students before being sold to the public, have nearly
sold out, said Ross-Reid, with fewer than 100 tickets left
in the 2,000-seat hall.
In addition to the concert,
Rec Council is hosting the annual Spring Party, this year
titled “Glow Park After Dark,” on
Friday, April 11, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Davis Ballroom.
For Rec Council, the pair of events is a way to send students
into the home stretch of the semester in good spirits.
“We love to present our Smithies with the opportunity
to gather in good company and enjoy the last days of the
school year together,” said Ross-Reid. |
