Camp Comes ot Smith
WOZQ
FM, Smith’s student-run
radio station, will host a on Tuesday, Nov. 11, that will feature a fun, light
evening performance of spoken word, visual art, music and
audience participation.
The evening performance begins at 7 p.m. in Davis Ballroom.
Admission is $3 for students and people under 18; $5 for
all others.
The show will include
performances by Smith’s WOZQ
deejay Hannah Cristina ’12, who is an alumna
of the Rock Camp, and a former deejay instructor there. Also
performing will be Katy Davidson, a musician with Dear Nora;
Nicole Georges, zinester; and sts, Rock ‘n’ Roll
Camp program director and drum instructor.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll
Camp is an organization based in Portland, Ore., that teaches
girls aged 8 to 18 how to showcase their talents through
playing instruments, forming bands and writing songs.
Northampton,
Smith College’s radio station
is a student-run station founded in 1949, and the oldest
female-run radio station in the nation.
