Exhibition
Captures Images of Thin Culture
Thin and Girl Culture,
a pair of exhibitions opening in the Museum of Art on Friday,
Jan. 30, displays photographs by Lauren Greenfield around
themes of eating disorders. For Thin, Greenfield
followed and photographed a group of women in treatment
at the Renfrew Center, a women's health center specializing
in treatment of eating disorders and other women's issues.
The project grew out of Greenfield's collection Girl
Culture,
which focused on the image-obsession of women in the United
States. Following are two samples from the exhibition,
which will remain on display through April 26.
