Where Does the Air Go? Tests Determine Houses' Energy Efficiency
Park House, which was renovated in summer 2009, is being tested this week
for air leakage, along with Morris and Lawrence houses. With the data
gathered from the tests, Park House (pictured below) will soon receive sealing treatment to
leaky areas (Morris and Lawrence will receive similar treatment as part of
renovations planned this summer), in order to increase the buildings' energy
efficiency.
The process, which is being conducted by a local company, Cozy Home
Performance, involves de-pressurizing the buildings and then blowing air and fog
inside to locate areas of air leakage. The pictures below illustrate the
process.
