Henderson’s dance I
am still waiting features a large ensemble cast of 12 dancers and
is set to the music “beginning” by
Michael Wall. She describes her dance as a “quiet piece where
the dancers do not leave the floor. They shift, they sit,
they wait, they…”
From among the many works by
the young choreographers who audition for this production,
only a handful of the best pieces are selected for inclusion
by the artistic directors, Susan Kay Waltner, professor of
dance and director of the MFA in Dance, and Lester Tomé, instructor of dance at Smith. The program features a variety
of music and dance genres and a combination of solo performances, large ensemble
pieces, and everything in between.
Seating is limited so purchase
tickets early: $9 for general public, $5 for students/seniors.
The Box Office (413-585-2787, boxoffice@smith.edu) is open
