The Smith Handbell
Choir, in concert at Smith Dec. 13, and downtown
Northampton Dec. 10. |
Northampton,
Mass.—The music department will
begin a new annual tradition with its first presentation
of a Holiday Pops concert, a cheery, melodic seasonal celebration
on Monday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Sweeney Concert Hall,
Sage.
The concert will feature the
Smith Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Chorus, and Handbell Choir,
all joining together to play popular holiday music, directed
by Ellen Redman, Genevieve Rose, Greg Brown, Grant Moss,
and directors of the various ensembles.
The Yuletide event
will include free hot chocolate, an ugly holiday sweater
contest, and perhaps a visitor from the North Pole.
The event
is free and open to the public. Venue opens at 7 p.m. No
tickets or reservations.
Members of the Smith Handbell
Choir will perform on the portico of the Northampton City
Hall on Friday, Dec. 10, at 4:30 p.m. as part of the downtown
holiday entertainment coordinated by the Northampton Business
Improvement District. |
