Textbook Assistance
Textbook Assistance
Smith expects all students to budget for books as part of their financial planning for college. Students whose book costs exceed their budgeted allowance may apply for aid from several sources on campus. Funds are awarded as book credit usable at the Grécourt Bookstore in the Campus Center.
Smith Students’ Aid Society
Undergraduate students should apply first to the Smith Students’ Aid Society (SSAS) using the Academic Funding Application on the Smith Social Network. Students may receive SSAS book assistance once within an academic year. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis.
Student Financial Services
Undergraduate students receiving need-based financial aid whose books for the semester total more than $400 may apply to Student Financial Services for assistance. Maximum funding per student per year is $200. Apply using the Academic Funding Application on the Smith Social Network.
Ada Comstock Scholars
Ada Comstock Scholars may apply for help with textbooks from the Ada office using the Academic Funding Application on the Smith Social Network. Your application will be reviewed by the dean of the Ada Comstock Scholars.
