Adria Updike

Biography
Adria Updike is an award-winning professor of physics and the Director of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. She graduated from Smith College in 2003 with degrees in physics and astronomy and earned her master’s and Ph.D. in physics from Clemson University. After a postdoc at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, she spent a year as a visiting professor of physics and astronomy at Dickinson College before moving to RWU. Her research interests include observational and computational astrophysics, electronic sensors, and physics education, and her hobbies include art and music.
