Biography
Fiona Maurissette, Ph.D. is a lecturer at Wellesley College. After graduating from Wellesley College and Tufts University, Fiona began her career in secondary education teaching in New York City. She completed her doctorate in English literature at Tufts. Her research interests include Black speculative fiction, Afrofuturism, intersectional feminism, Haiti, Black diasporic freedom practices, and maroonage. In all of her work, she centers the voices of the Black women who made it possible for her to be an academic truth-teller.
