Katherine Cholakis-Kolysko

Katherine is a landscape architect with professional experience in landscape master planning, green infrastructure design, and environmental permitting. Research interests include the intersections of aesthetics and experience, ecological processes, social values, and environmental behavior. Katherine is on the faculty at the Conway School where she teaches graduate courses in ecological design and planning, and she has taught capstone studios within the UMass Amherst undergraduate landscape architecture program. Katherine has experience in cultural landscape analysis and interpretation, and served as the Cultural Landscape Foundation’s Boasberg Fellow. She was a Summer Fellow with Places Journal where she published an article about her research concerning aesthetic reactions to green infrastructure facilities. She has also published on sustainability in the arts and design departments in institutions of higher education.
