A. Lee Burns
Professor of Art
Biography
Lee Burns came to Smith in fall 1977 and teaches design and sculpture. His personal work is wide ranging, including carving of wood and stone, welding and bronze casting. After extensive work with abstract mirror-polished (electroplated for surface protection) bronze sculptures, he is currently carving bowls from black ash burls. This work sometimes spins off into sculptures with wood that are not necessarily functional.
