As a Zero Waste Event crew member, I help event participants find the right can for disposables. It‘s a pretty straightforward job—with great outcomes. I have fun conversations with people I don‘t know about compostable cups and issues related to my country, Afghanistan. Sometimes people just pass by and say things like “Keep up the great work,” or “I need one of those shirts!” I love my job because it makes me feel helpful and reminds me that I‘m living in a community that cares about the environment. This gives me so much hope and positive energy.
