Network Accounts
Smith Students, Faculty and Staff: Your Smith Network Account username and password is used to access the following resources:
Smith Mail
Smith owned computers
Smith Portal
Network Storage
Wireless Networks
Other systems that use Shibboleth
Faculty, Visiting Faculty, Research Associates and staff: Your Smith Network Account will be automatically created once your record is completed in the Banner system by Human Resources. This requires that you have completed and turned in all necessary forms and paperwork, including your Federal I9 form. When your account is completed in Banner, an email will be sent to your home email address with your Smith network username and temporary password, as well as instructions for creating your permanent password. Please check your spam filter for this message if you have not received your account information within several days of completing your HR forms.
Smith Students: For students starting in the fall, Smith Network Accounts will be created in the beginning of June. An email will be sent to your home email address with your Smith network username and temporary password as well as instructions for creating your permanent password. Please check your spam filter for this message if you have not received your account information by the middle of June.
Others taking courses at Smith: Five College students, Northampton High School students and course Auditors registered for classes at Smith receive a Smith Network account. This account is used to access our wireless network, Smith College's library and lab computers, as well as E-reserve materials.
Five College students: If you are registered for a class at Smith, an email will be sent to your college email address with your Smith Network login information. Please check your email spam folder if you have not received that information before classes begin. To access Moodle, use your home college credentials.
- To register during the add/drop period, please go to the Smith College Registrar's Office to complete the registration.
Northampton High School students: An email with your account information will be sent to your home email address. Please check your email spam folder.
