INSTALLING THE IVANTI SECURE VPN CLIENT ON A MAC

Download the Ivanti Secure Client

1. If using a Smith issued Mac, you can install Ivanti from the Smith College Self Service app that can be found in the Applications folder.
2. If you are using a non-Smith Mac, you can download the Ivanti Secure Client for Mac from the Smith Software site. Scroll down to the Misc. section.
   
   
3. Double-click the pkg file to start the install.
   
   
4. Accept the defaults and if prompted, enter for your username and password to install new software.
   
   
5. Restart your computer.

Configure a Connection to Smith

By default, the Ivanti client should be pre-configured with the Smith connection after it has been installed. If you do need to add the connection, you can follow the steps below.

1. Open Ivanti Secure. An Ivanti Secure icon (a key in hand symbol) will appear in the top menu bar.
   
   
2. From the Connection Bar, click the plus-sign to add a connection.
   
   
3. The Type of Connection should read: Policy Secure (UAC) or Connect Secure (VPN)
   
   
4. In the Name field, enter a name for your Profile (for example, Smith).
   
   
5. In the Server URL field, enter vpn.smith.edu
   
   
6. Click Add to save the profile.
   
   
7. Click connect and you wil be presented with a Smith login page. Enter your Smith username and password (do not include the @smith.edu to the username)
   
   
8. Next you will receive the prompt to authenticate with Duo.You can choose the method it defaults to or you can select Other options to choose an alternative method. For more information on this step please follow these instructions.
   

You are now using Ivanti Secure for a secure connection back to Smith.
