Find a Fellowship

Fellowship applications often require more time and effort than you think, which means it is difficult to work on multiple applications at once. To refine your fellowship choices, review the tabs below of fellowships supported by Smith. For nominated awards, we work with others on campus to vet and select applicants and endorse those candidates moving forward.

This page lists the fellowships that Smith specializes in but many more possibilities exist! Connect with us to discover other opportunities and for help applying.

Fellowships by Year

Some fellowships are only open to certain class years. Here, we’ve created lists of fellowships—and their deadlines!—according to where you are in your academic career.

Note that U.S. citizens can apply to all opportunities listed here. Those with different citizenship should use the tool below to search for eligible fellowships.

Graduate Funding

Graduate funding can work very differently from undergraduate funding with a lot of variation between schools and professional areas. As you assemble your list of the graduate programs and schools that interest you, inform yourself about each school's financial aid for graduate school, teaching and research assistantship programs, and merit scholarships for which you can apply.
