Mary Metlay Kaufman (1912-1995): civil rights and labor attorney, law professor, and peace activist; prosecutor in Nuremberg trials; defender of Communist Party members in 1950s and of peace, civil rights and other activists in 1960s and 70s; participant in international tribunals investigating US war crimes in Southeast Asia, the nuclear arms race, and Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy.
